I am pleased to announce we expect the exterior project to be wrapping up by the end of August.
With ComEd finishing up with the work in the electric vault, LS Contracting was able to remobilize and quickly got the last of the vertical paneling installed along the sidewalk. You may recall, once we knew ComEd would be doing the vault work, this part of the project was put on hold – otherwise, they would have had to take these panels back down.
Over the next two weeks, workers will be finishing the joints and sealants along the vertical plaza panels and washing and re-sealing the entire plaza. We expect them to power wash the plaza on Friday August 14th. And weather permitting, they will install the sealer coat on Saturday August 15th. Going forward, for proper maintenance and aesthetics, we anticipate having this sealer coat applied once or twice a year.
There is a very strong odor associated with the sealer, which you may notice if you have your window open on a lower floor, or as you are walking through the mall and lobby. Also, while the sealer is going down, some of the doors will be temporarily inaccessible, so please mind any orange cones or caution tape.
There are several other smaller punch list type tasks that they may be working on from time to time, but once the sealer is down, we expect no further major disruptions around the entrance, plaza and Circle Drive.
