ComEd has really made their presence known. They have been busy getting materials moved into the vault and positioning equipment to begin the process of tearing up and replacing the sidewalk and vault caps. Fortunately they have erected a temporary sidewalk hugging the work area. And they left enough space to keep the plaza and mall entrance accessible via the stairs. We expect them to be in place into June should the weather continue to cooperate.
Looking for the bus stop? It is right at the Southwest corner of the driveway, by the big yellow rock between our Circle Drive and the driveway North of the Breakers.
The contractor completing our exterior work finished the tuck-pointing along the masonry wall adjacent to the Circle Drive. With the dry weather this week, they were able to begin installing the sealant joints in the driveway and complete work needed for the remaining light fixtures (you may have already noticed, because of their placement and the depth of the structural slab at these two locations, the fixtures protruded excessively. A cover plate was placed around them too reduce the possibility of tripping). Also, they have started the process of replacing topping slabs on the plaza which we were unhappy with. This should be completed by next week barring heavy rains.
Now that we can complete this last bit of work for the driveway and plaza, we expect the presence of workers and activities for about the next 8 weeks if weather remain favorable. We expect to complete the punch-list items for the plaza/driveway project, but we can not finish the plaza vertical panels until ComEd is done with their vault work. Fortunately, the panels are on site and ready to go, and the contractor has promised to assign workers to the project as immediately as possible following ComEd’s departure.
We appreciate residents patience and understanding as these projects are completed.
