However, please make sure to close your window:
1. BEFORE YOU LEAVE HOME – The weather can turn suddenly and unexpectedly. If a window is left open and if there is a sudden deluge while you are not home, there is a good possibility of damage to your unit and units below you and even to the side of you.
2. IF YOU ARE A SMOKER OR COOKING – Typically, with the design of the building creating a negative pressure inside, air will more often then not enter your unit when you open your window. This can force air from your unit into the hallway and into neighboring units. For smokers – and heavy or spicy cookers – this can lead to complaints from your neighbors.
Take advantage of the great weather while it’s here, but please only open your windows when you are home. And while it may improve your units ventilation, if you smoke or cook please allow the buildings natural pressure to remove odors through the kitchen and bath vents. Otherwise, you are very well sharing odors from your unit with your neighbors.
