At the Monday June 22nd Board Meeting, the Board approved to pay for Overtime Service with Otis Elevator, to accelerate the work replacing the cables. The team expects to be working 10 hour shifts from 6am to 4:30pm every day until the project is completed.

As a part of their obligations under the maintenance contract between OTIS Elevator and Park Tower, the technician is constantly monitoring the health and condition of the cables servicing each cab. As a part of those responsibilities, our technician reported for the best health of the elevator and for the safety of building and passengers, it is time to schedule replacement.
The necessary parts and materials have been ordered and they anticipate beginning on Tuesday June 23rd. While work is underway, there may be noise from time to time throughout the elevator shaft and various floors adjacent to the work locations they are at.
We know when any elevator is out of service, it can be frustrating and inconvenient. But, strong, stable and healthy cables are necessary for passenger safety and the over all health of the elevator and surrounding structure. To help during this time, we blocked off our Elevator Calendar for move and construction related reservations from the 23rd continuing through Friday July 10th. Regular elevator use and necessary deliveries can still use car #5. Reservations will not be available until Car #6 is returned to service.
