Elevator #3 Out of Service

We expect elevator number 3 to be out of service for about 2 weeks.
We’ve been anticipating replacement of the cables on car 3 sometime this Spring, and in fact Otis Elevator ordered the ropes in January. However, after an inspection following reports of the elevator making some odd noises and screeching, it was decided the car should be taken out of service until the ropes are replaced.
Fortunately the ropes are scheduled for delivery sometime this week, and Otis has scheduled the replacement to begin Monday March 23rd. Barring any problems or unknown conditions uncovered once they begin, they expect the work to take about 1 week.
Considering how the elevator was behaving, the noises and observations made by the technician, we believed the most prudent measure is to leave it out of service until the cable replacement is completed. We know this will mean some painful wait times, and appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding.
We apologize for the inconvenience while this elevator is out of service.
