From the Office of Alderman Harry Osterman:
November 12, 2019
Dear Neighbor:
At last month’s 48th Ward Town Hall Meetings I had announced that my office was co-hosting a series of community meetings with CTA regarding the Red Purple Modernization project. Due to ongoing revisions to the construction plan, I am cancelling these meetings.
They will be rescheduled when the we have a more complete picture of the work ahead. We will share the new meeting dates in my newsletter and on social media.
Sincerely,
Harry Osterman
Alderman, 48th Ward
Ald. Harry Osterman, 48th Ward, will address participants at 9:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. each day. Otherwise, there is no formal agenda or presentation – the meetings will be open-house style to allow you to get the information you want. The Lawrence to Bryn Mawr Project is part of the Red and Purple Modernization (RPM) Phase One Project.

Do you require language assistance?
We will have translators that speak Mandarin, Cantonese and Vietnamese at these meetings. If you need an interpreter, including sign language or other foreign language services, or other accommodations, email LaTrice Phillips-Brown at least five days in advance at lphillips-brown@transitchicago.com.
Construction approach that reduces impacts:
We have taken a mindful approach to construction, minimizing disruptions and negative impacts. The CTA has included contractual requirements in the Design-Build contract to provide alternative parking and prohibiting construction workers from using street parking. We will also build temporary stations, use specialize equipment to substantially limit the construction zone, open a local CTA community office, and extensive efforts will be made to inform, prepare and connect individuals and businesses.
