PREVIEW This guided discussion, presented by the Social Committee, will be in a question-and-answer format on the following 7 topics. A few questions and answers will have been prepared ahead of time on each topic and, of course, we will also take questions and comments from Zoom participants.
1. Coronavirus vaccine origins and development
2. Specific Vaccines
3. How the vaccines work
4. Production, distribution and inoculation
5. Safety and efficacy
6. Expected symptoms and possible common side effects and rare serious reactions
7. Life after I get the vaccine
Note: The Social Committee has researched the answers at many resources, especially at the websites of the CDC and FDA. Also, to bring some professionalism and credibility to our discussion, leading our questions and answers will be Monique Fouant, a neighbor here at PTCA with a Ph.D. in Pathology, who is recently retired as a consultant in the pharmaceutical industry with a specialty in drug safety and development and regulatory writing, and a former colleague of Monique’s, Clare Salamon, MS in Cellular Biology, who works currently as a consultant in the pharmaceutical industry with a specialty in drug safety and development and regulatory writing.
As this subject is an evolving issue we are working hard to keep abreast of what will most be on people’s minds. Right now, it seems that a lot of people want to know simply where they can get a vaccine. As these topics change we plan to include, in some of our opening and/or closing remarks, comments to cover such topics.
