I will preface this by saying a couple things:
FIRST – Thank you to Sheldon Atovsky (Board Member and acting Social Commission Chair) who actually put together the bulk of the information below. And if anyone is aware of other resources, please e-mail me directly at tpatricio@habitat.com, and I will update this post.
SECOND – Wherever possible, when you are reviewing these links, if there is a HOTLINE, we suggest not only registering online, but calling the available Hotilines early and often. We are told that a certain percentage of appointments are only made available for callers, since not everyone has easy access to a computer, smart phone, or the internet.
Links for Online registration for vaccine appointments:
https://www.ilvaccine.org/ – This link is for metropolitan Chicago sites and is found to be kept very up to date.
https://www.zocdoc.com/ – This link is for City of Chicago vaccination sights. Chicago is its own vaccine jurisdiction, separate from the rest of Cook County and different from the rest of the State of Illinois.
https://www.facebook.com/groups/1864372350383607/ – Chicago Vaccine Hunters – a private group for which anyone may sign-up.
https://vaccine.cookcountyil.gov/ – For locations in Cook County outside of Chicago – residents of Chicago may use Cook County sights as long as they qualify for vaccines under City guidelines – you must register before you may make a reservation for a vaccine – most of these sights are run by the Illinois National Guard and they are excellently organized. With this link in particular, there has been great success reported with using the Vaccine Sign-Up Hotline: 833-308-1988 M-F 7am-7pm CT – CALL EARLY and CALL OFTEN.
https://howardbrown.org/covid-19/vaccine/ – Howard Brown not only accepts folks in the eligible categories, but if you are an existing patient, they will fit you in when they have available doses. Multiple Howard Brown patients have reported success after being put on their waiting list, despite not falling in groups 1a and 1b.
All other local sights, like pharmacies, grocery stores, etc. will be included in one or more of the above websites. But many of these such as Walgreens have apps for smartphones which you can download and then register for vaccine appointments.
Our team is happy to help anyway we reasonably can to at least connect our residents and Owners and the community to resources we are aware of. Don’t hesitate to e-mail, parktowercondo-mgmt@habitat.com.
