Our thanks to Carlos Vargas for loaning an issue of Commerce magazine that includes the full color rendering nearby. The magazine billed itself as Chicagoland’s Voice of Business and Industry, and this particular issue included Bonus Section: Condos – Home of the Future.
After copying the rendering, we became curious and started reading the articles in that bonus section. Whew, a heavy lift! But the nine articles below do an amazing job of analyzing and explaining Chicago’s hot condominium market during the 1970s and 80s.
It is even more pertinent when you realize that among the first to buy condos at Park Tower in February, 1979 were folks who had been renting here, some as early as 1973. Most were doubtless buying the very same Units they’d been living in.
