ComEd Vault Repairs Anticipated To Begin

Our reps with ComEd have advised us the vault work, underneath the sidewalk along Sheridan Road, is scheduled to begin Monday April 6th.
For now, the sidewalk will remain open. Work will be isolated to the interior of the vault. With the exception of any unknown conditions they find, this phase of their work could take 1 to 3 weeks. They will be prepping the vault and equipment for the ceiling and sidewalk replacement.
Once work begins on the exterior, the sidewalk will be closed from the plaza stairs, south to just past the bus stop. As it gets underway, protective barriers will be erected. This includes portions of the plaza area, which may be used to support tools and pulleys need to conduct some of the work. We are told to expect the sidewalk to be closed from 8 to 12 weeks.
The bus stop will be relocated south, near the Balmoral stop light.
While this work is underway and we receive more information, we will publish updates weekly.
