SUMMARY:CAPS Meeting - Beat 2023
DESCRIPTION:Attend Park Tower’s Local CAPS Meeting! \nThe Chicago Police Department has been committed to implementing a comprehensive community policing strategy – CAPS – that is designed to make residents an active partner in preventing and reducing crime in all of Chicago’s neighborhoods.  That strategy recognizes that police\, residents and other neighborhood stakeholders\, and other City agencies have to work together to address all the conditions that can lead to crime.   No one stands alone; each of us has a role to play in improving the quality of life in our communities. \nThere are several critical elements to the City’s community policing strategy: \n\nThat police\, residents and other City agencies working together can prevent crime and improve the quality of life in all of Chicago’s neighborhoods;\nThat positive working relationships need to be established between local police and residents; and\nThat law enforcement\, community-based\, and City service strategies need to be developed and implemented in order to prevent and reduce crime.\n\nFor more information about our local CAPS meetings\, contact Marko at the 48th Ward office: \nMarko@48thward.org\, 773-784-5277

SUMMARY:City Made Fest 2014
DESCRIPTION:Andersonville welcomes local businesses\, brewers and artists from across Chicago to participate in our second-annual City Made Fest. The fest will feature Chicago beers\, Chicago music\, and Chicago artisans in a weekend long celebration of all things local. \nLocated on Clark Street between Argyle and Carmen (5000-5100N)\, this year’s event will take place on Saturday\, September 20th and Sunday\, September 21st\, 2014\, from noon until 9pm\, the fest offers patrons the City of Chicago’s ONLY local-only craft brew festival.  The theme of the event\, “City Made\,” highlights our commitment to exalting crafters working within the Chicago City Limits. Unlike other craft brew festivals\, this event showcases even the smallest scale brewers and makers on a grand stage. \nFeaturing a revolving line-up of local brews on tap\, one stage of live music\, and dozens of vendors\, Andersonville City Made Fest invites participants from across Chicago to celebrate its exceptional artisan community and the breweries that are making some of the nation’s best beers right in our own backyards. \nThe event is open to the public (suggested $5 donation at gate).
