Management Has Been Asked Repeatedly Over The Past Several Weeks About Rumors That The Bus Stop Immediately In Front Of Park Tower, Along Northbound Sheridan Road, Is Being Removed.

Four Words – Not at all true.

We’ve consulted with the office of Alderman Osterman, who we understand looked into these rumors personally. We were told residents from Park Tower were also contacting the Alderman’s Office. They’ve confirmed with CTA that there are no plans to remove the bus stop, and have no idea where such an idea came from. They’ve said our office and the public would be informed well in advance should anything like that ever be planned in the future.

More than one resident reported to me that it was a bus driver who said the Bus Stop was being removed. But, as with what we typically learn of such rumors, it appears to be nonsense.

NOW, we do know that the Southbound bus stop across the street, adjacent to Wing Hoe, may be removed or relocated at some point. And that is only if the plans for the new development move forward. There is no word on final approval for that development yet, let alone the timing. But announcements will be made public when it is. As far as we know, any removal or relocation of the bus stop would be temporary, only to accommodate construction.
