CORRECTION – The Alderman reports that the Greystar development (which planned at parking lot at Sheridan and Catalpa), is on hold. Also, he reports on the back path renovation, and other neighborhood news and activities.
From the office of Alderman Harry Osterman:
“…..In a development update regarding the Edgewater Overture building at 5440 N. Sheridan Road. Last year the community and I supported a zoning change for this 16-story, 174-unit development that included 10% of units as affordable by City of Chicago standards. Greystar, who had stepped in to develop this building, has
backed out of the project. The project is currently on hold. I will provide an additional update on this project later this summer.
The lakefront bike path renovation is currently underway and will be completed in August. Please use Kenmore and Winthrop to Foster or Argyle before heading east to link up with the lakefront trail. I have asked Park District to improve the detour signage in the area around Foster and the lakefront trail.
If you don’t want to brave the crowds at Taste of Chicago, stop by Taste of Summer at St. Ita’s, 5500 N. Broadway, this Sunday July 15th, from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. to enjoy great food and music.
Have a great weekend.”
