With the buzz about the proposed purchase of 12c at a crescendo this week, we have received a handful of inquiries about the Ad-Committee which made the original recommendation to the Board to consider purchasing the Unit.
The Ad-hoc Committee to Review The Decs/Bylaws for possible amendments, was formed about two years ago and tasked with exploring possible amendments to the Declaration and Bylaws. These governing documents were put in place about 40 years ago by the developer and have since not been updated or amended in any way with the exception of combining several units and incorporating changes in insurance requirements mandated by the State of Illinois. Other than those matters, the Unit Owners have never considered any serious changes of their own until now, with referendums on cats and dogs, detection animals, leasing restrictions, a smoking ban, and use of the Health Club by non-residents and owners.
Along with a handful of other matters, this Committee was also asked to consider the situation with 12c, since completing the collections process would also require approval of the ownership.
We have posted their report several times since these initiatives got underway. But with the renewed interest following the mailing of the first formal letter about the 12c referendum, here it is again:

Also helpful in understanding this report and the process, is a cover letter with an introduction from the Committee to the Board:
