No Trick-or-Treating This Year
October 29, 2021
As many residents know, Halloween is one of the Management Office’s favorite times of year. Sadly the ongoing pandemic really hampers our usual activities, and particularly now with resources stretched so thin.
That goes the same for handing out candy. With children yet unable to be vaccinated, we will not be promoting Trick-or-Treating again this year. We realize the numbers in the City are relatively hopeful and better than they’ve been in sometime. But by promoting an activity such as Trick-OR-Treating we are encouraging 2 things that are problematic:
- Ignoring Social Distancing standards.
- Promoting children handling and consuming things given to them by potentially multiple people from households other than their own.
So we are not ready to pursue this, this year. Some other buildings are allowing it, we know. We are choosing a safe an conservative approach with the hope that next year we will be able to support this and other social activities throughout Park Tower. And, fortunately it seems vaccines are on deck for all our little ones. That will be an encouraging step forward. But for now, we would like to move forward and make sure we continue doing our best to stop the spread and in this case to those who without vaccines are the most vulnerable.
We appreciate everyone’s understanding during these continued challenging times.
