Launch Date Monday February 4th! Residents and Owners may begin registering now, with LUXER!
We are planning and expecting to open and begin using the Package Room, with the new LUXER notification service, beginning Monday February 4th. Residents with current e-mails on file should begin receiving automatic notices that day, as we transfer all packages currently being held in the Management Office, to the package room. Stay tuned…a formal announcement is expected to be door dropped early next week, with details and information.
START REGISTERING, and review the PT Package Room Guidelines below!
Residents can follow these registration instructions below by February 4th for access to the secure package room:
1) Visit https://app.luxerone.com/login, enter the email address Management has on file for you, and click “Forgot Password”.
2) You will receive an email with a link to enter a new password.
3) To complete your account registration, enter your cell phone number (for text message notifications upon package delivery).
If your email address is not accepted by the system, please click “Create an account” on the login page. You will receive prompts to manually enter your email address, set up your password, and connect your account with your unit number.
How Luxer One Works
Make your online order and enter your address and unit number as you always would. Your shipping address remains the same.
Once your package has been delivered and sorted into the room, it will be scanned into the system, stored, and you will receive an email (and/or text message, if you opt in) with an access code to open the room. Enter your access code on the Luxer One touch screen outside the Luxer Room, and the door to the secured room will open.
Locate and take your package out of the room.
If you have multiple packages, please pick them all up at once. Once you enter one code, all of your active codes will be deactivated.
Hold Package Feature
If you are out of town for an extended period of time, you can put your package On Hold by selecting “Hold Package” when you get your notification. To do this, simply log in to your Luxer One account and select the day you would like your package held until.
Security
The Luxer Room is monitored with video surveillance 24/7, by both LUXER and Park Tower’s surveillance system, so your package will always be secured safely.
Questions? Head to luxerone.com for FAQs and all the help you need.
Package Room Guidelines
Package Room hours are 24 hours/7 days a week.
To enter the package room, you will need to be registered with LUXER One, and receive an entry code to open the door. When packages are delivered, they are logged in to the LUXER system – Properly registered residents will receive a notification via text or e-mail with the entry code. Contact the Park Tower office for instructions if you are not registered.
COD’s (cash on delivery) will not be delivered or accepted.
Please retrieve your packages ASAP after you’re notified to avoid Package Room clutter. Anything held in excess of 10 business days may be returned.
Very Large/oversized, and/or heavy package deliveries should be coordinated with the management office.
Flatbed carts to assist with delivering packages to your unit may be checked out from security or the staff, but must be returned immediately. Stop by the front desk to inquire.
A cooler is available for perishable deliveries. The bins are present for envelopes and smaller packages. The shelves will be used for storage of most medium sized packages and boxes. Large and oversized deliveries will be arranged in the front of the room.
Park Tower staff may not assist with deliveries of packages to units, and should not be handling any personal belongings or property. However, please alert the front desk or office if there is a problem or if you need assistance of any kind.

Package Room Launch Date
Coming Very Soon
Finishing touches are in the works, SO we are expecting the new PT Package Room managed by LUXER, to be opening soon. We are optimistic a Grand Opening announcement with a date and instructions for registering, managing your account and retrieving packages, will be released within the next week. Following that, packages and deliveries will be accessible 24/7!
In the interim, we continue to post the latest news and announcements on our website at www.ptcondo.com. This includes details regarding LUXER and the basics about what to expect from the new Package Room.
So the transition to this service is most convenient for you, we need to be sure we have all current e-mail and cell phone number on file for every resident who expects to receive packages. If you have any doubt we don’t have this on file for you, please fill out the following and return this form (Click Here) to the office, or drop it off in the slot at the lobby front desk:
We finally received and installed the LUXER interface panels (one which is visible just outside the package room door), and the security cameras which the service uses to manage the room and monitor traffic. LUXER has also completed uploading the database for use in sending messages to residents when packages arrive.
Right now, our team is awaiting scheduling by LUXER to complete making their necessary connection between the database and the newly installed equipment. This step is not yet scheduled, but we are hopeful that will done any day. After that, the system and controls will be tested. Once testing is determined to be successful, the package room will begin being used for deliveries.
Also, LUXER has determined that due to the size and layout of the package room, that another camera will need to be installed. That is currently in route, but is not expected to delayed the ongoing work to get the room open and operational.
IMPORTANT – TO BE ABLE TO ANNOUNCE THE ARRIVAL OF YOUR PACKAGES, we need a current e-mail address and/or a cell phone number. Without that you will only be able to rely the carrier confirmation (Amazon, UPS, FedEx, USPS), to know your package has arrived. If you need to give us an e-mail or cell phone number, or if you’re unsure we have the current best contact information for this, please send us an e-mail.
As a reminder, following is a video giving a simple overview of how our LUXER Package Room will work, though there are some nuances unique to our space, such as that carriers will log in packages on the inside of the space, not outside:
UPDATED Friday January 4th
We’ve been told to expect receipt of the LUXER equipment any day now. Once we receive and install the equipment, the software can be installed, the database can be loaded and system can be tested. After successful testing, we will finally be able to put the new service in place.

UPDATED Friday November 16th
The Package Room build out is well underway, and at present the construction of new walls, lighting and flooring is in progress. Also, the new security cameras have been installed and tied into our system.
At the Meeting on Monday November 12th, the Board formally approved the contracts with PRESSBOX and Luxer, for the the Dry Cleaning and Package Receiving/Messaging services. Once the agreements are processed, we expect Luxer to ship the equipment for package scanning service, and we are awaiting details on the installation of the PRESSBOX lockers.
QUESTION – In the meantime, why can’t we get a notification or message from the Office when a package arrives at the office?
Our sincere apologies, but it is just not humanly possible. We are sometimes receiving in excess of 100 packages a day. Recently, Amazon dropped off over 200 packages in one delivery! If you are expecting something and you don’t already get an alert or confirmation via text or e-mail, or you’re concerned you may have a package, feel free to contact the office and we are happy to check. 773-769-3250 or e-mail parktowercondo@draperandkramer.com.
UPDATED Friday November 2nd
TOWN HALL MEETING
Tuesday November 13th at 7pm in the Party Room
Join our team as we meet with representatives of “LUXER” and “PRESSBOX by Tide“, as they make presentations on what’s to come in our new Receiving area.
Work is already underway as we transform the Dry Cleaners and Receiving room into a storage room for packages and deliveries. The biggest changes are that the room will be secured and accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and we will have storage capabilities for perishable items. A LUXER receiving room system and control pane will be installed, where packages can be logged in and messages sent to residents to announce their arrival.
Immediately across from the space, where the bulletin Board is now, PRESSBOX by Tide lockers will be installed for professional dry cleaning service. Here drop off and delivery of laundry can be made, and we are told residents can expect a 2 day turn around for dry cleaning.
All Owners and Residents are welcome and STRONGLY encouraged to join us for this very important meeting.
IMPORTANT REMINDER
Throughout the remodeling effort in the receiving room, packages and deliveries will be dropped of and stored in the Management Office, and will be available for pick up:
While the Receiving Room is being remodeled for the coming “Luxer Room”, all packages and deliveries will be accepted and held in the Management Office. Our team will log them in and organize them by floor. Residents can stop by for pick up as follows:
MONDAY thru FRIDAY 8am to 6:30pm
SATURDAYs 8am to 12pm
COMING SOON

While the receiving room will no longer be attended, the space will be set up and secured by a Luxer package receiving system. You can receive e-notifications of deliveries, and packages can be retrieved 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. More information about this is available below, AND join us for a Town Hall Meeting, Tuesday November 13th at 7pm in the Party Room. ORIGINAL POST October 20th, 2018
Sue and Jim have already begun winding down their operations, and have scheduled to close for service on Wednesday October 31st.
Following that, the Association is expecting to begin a build out of the space. We anticipate this to be about a month long process, with new flooring, lighting and shelving being installed to receive packages by way of a “Luxer” Room. (Click Here To Learn About Luxer) Deliveries will be scanned in, stored in the room and messages/texts will be sent to residents to announce their delivery. “Pressbox by Tide” laundry care and cleaning service lockers will be installed, for residents who need professional laundry services. (Click Here To Learn About Pressbox By Tide))
Following is a video giving a simple overview of how a Luxer Package Room will work:
As we get closer to the launch of these services, we expect at least one Town Hall Meeting to be scheduled so representatives can introduce the service and answer questions. Also, following the opening of the new receiving room, representatives will be scheduled to be present on occasion, to assist with the launch.
Preparations are underway to begin the demo process for the package room on November 1st. At that time, the Management Office will temporarily take over receiving duties. Most small and medium packages will be stored on temporary shelving in the Conference Room. Large packages will be dealt with on a case by case basis. We are pleased AND VERY THANKFUL to announce Sue will actually be helping us in the office, several hours each business day and early evening, and Saturdays from 9am to 1pm.
We respectfully urge owners and residents receiving packages during this window of time, to pick them up as quickly as possible. Particularly over the Thanksgiving Holiday.
In case you missed it, the Chicago Tribune came out with a detailed investigative report this weekend regarding the financial malfeasance underlying the 2025 closure of Weiss Hospital and the 2026 closure of West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park. According to the article, the 2022 purchase of the hospitals from Pipeline Health was approved by the State of Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board without sufficient investigation. While the leader of the new healthcare consortium (Dr. Manoj Prasad and investor Reddy Rathnaker Patlola) presented themselves to local and state leaders as experienced in healthcare, including healthcare turnarounds, they had [...]
In a topic near and dear to our hearts, another COVID fraudster is finally answering for his crimes.Seems like only yesterday that Jared Leonard was going to open a Budlong Chicken 'superstore' of sorts at 1329 W. Wilson (now home to Terrace). Those plans evaporated when Leonard abandoned the Wilson project and moved to Colorado to open a Denver outpost of Budlong alongside a new concept (Au Feu). Then COVID hit. Instead of working to survive and reset, Leonard decided to take full advantage of the COVID crisis by making up fake business losses and submitting false information to the government to [...]
For multiple months we have received complaints regarding the homeless takeovers at several Uptown bus stops. The majority of the complaints have focused on the heavily used bus stop and bus shelter across from Aldi and Target, at the corner of Sunnyside and Broadway.Reader AK sent the following photos to illustrate the situation. There is a nearly identical takeover at Wilson and Sheridan that has been the subject of other reader complaints.Rainy days like yesterday, today, and this weekend present a particular problem. People who would otherwise use the shelters for their intended purpose are forced to stand out in the [...]
