The Social Committee is still looking for volunteers, in order to make the 4th of July Party work. Here are some specific details about what the Committee is looking for:

Wed, July 4, 3 – 5:30 pm, food prep:  Need 2 more volunteers:

• 3:00 pm put up flags to decorate South deck
• 3:30pm RECEIVE Polar Ice delivery at dock and then into tubs with beer, soda and water
• 4pm BRING ice cream cart to Party Room
• 4:30 pm RECEIVE samosas from Shan’s
• 5pm RECEIVE Browns chicken delivery at dock

Wed, July 4, 5:15 – 8:30 pm:  Need 4 more volunteers

• WELCOME TABLE to check people in, collect tickets from guests, take money from guests without tickets, name tags – 3 people per shift (2 at table; 1 in hallway) in 1 hour shifts

Wed, July 4, 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm:  Need 7 more volunteers

• Resupplying napkins, cutlery, plates, cups
• Monitoring need to resupply food – salads, hot foods in chafing dishes, dessert table, table with condiments, plastic tubs with ice, soda and beer, wine
• Checking trash and recycle bins to empty and resupply new liners
• Monitoring need to resupply ice, beer (4 kinds), soda (4 kinds) and water in rubber tubs outside
• Serving at food stations – salads, hot foods in chafing dishes, ice cream truck, (start serving at 6:30/ check off inventory list/ monitor 1 per person), dessert table, table with condiments, serving of wine

Wed, July 4, 8 pm – 10 pm clean up:  Need 4 more volunteer

In order for the 4th of July Party to happen, the Social Committee is still looking for volunteers!

We’ve had a great year, taken a BIG breath, and committed to bringing back the ever-popular 4th of July Celebration.

It will look a lot like past celebrations, but with some improvements. For instance, this year the event will be catered. Major food items will be prepared off-site, and the caterer’s personnel will assist with serving. Better food, better presentation. Still, with the crowd we’re expecting — residents + their guests — this is one major undertaking! Here are the slots we’re depending on Park Tower volunteers to fill:

Tuesday, July 3   
10 am to 2:00 pm (begin to prepare Party Room & Deck)

Wednesday, July 4 
10 am to 2:00 pm (final preparation of Party Room & Deck)
3:00 to 5:15 pm (help caterer assemble food)
5:15 to 8:30 pm (welcome, name tags, cashier, help serve, monitor food tables & trash/recyclables)
8:00 to 10:00 pm (clean up!!)
