“Dear Neighbor:

Earlier this week I joined with students, faculty, community and administrators from Sacred Heart Schools to celebrate their 140th anniversary. The celebration included an inter-faith service, the planting of a Peace Pole, and a street dedication on Sheridan Road to Saint Madeleine Sophie Barat, the founder of the Religious of the Sacred Heart. Sacred Heart is an outstanding school here in Edgewater and has been an important community partner over the years. Their efforts to support local youth through the Edgewater Kids United partnership with Loyola University and Becoming a Man (BAM), has had a significant impact on young lives in our community. Congratulations to Sacred Heart, we wish them well on another 140 years education young minds.

The Edgewater Chamber of Commerce and my office recently welcomed TekkEez to the Edgewater community at their 6204 N. Broadway location. TekkEez provides repair services for electronics and sells accessories. Owner Chavez Carter is a graduate of Loyola University, and we are proud he chose to open his first business here in the community. Congratulations to Chavez and his team. Please show him a warm welcome and support this young entrepreneur….”
