The 8th request is pending receipt of proof the Board requested regarding the explanation. However, the message is clear, and your management and maintenance teams support this: PARKERS – PLEASE MOVE YOUR CARS BY 9AM SO THIS IMPORTANT WORK CAN BE DONE!
But first, we would like to thank the vast majority of parkers who did move by 9am. We know this is inconvenient and we know it can be a hassle, so we very much appreciate the support and cooperation.
This work is necessary to properly maintain the membrane and garage concrete, and a cleaner, healthier building. The garage concrete and 1p membrane in particular can suffer from the salt and pollution that builds up on the surface. It needs to be removed periodically to avoid unnecessary damage and deterioration. The spray wash lengthens its lifespan, and reduces the chance for very costly concrete replacement in the future.
As posted in January, anyone not moving their vehicle for the cleaning of the garage by 9am on their posted dates the week of April 24th, was subject to a $150 fee. This policy passed after the power wash done in the summer of 2022, when even more vehicles failed to move. In January 2023, notice of the April cleaning was posted throughout the garage and bulletin boards, the website and in the Weekly News and Updates. Still, about 60 parkers did not move.
The average vehicle is 97.6 square feet. If you consider that just the space immediately under an unmoved car did not get cleaned, that’s almost 6000 Square Feet! Sadly, it is much more than that, as the workers cannot get that close and have to work around unmoved vehicles. Sometimes it creates even more of a problem depending on the exact location and position of the vehicle.
SO, again, the message: PARKERS – PLEASE MOVE YOUR CARS BY 9AM SO THIS IMPORTANT WORK CAN BE DONE!
We expect the next power wash will be scheduled for the late fall of 2023. Vehicles not moved by 9am on the dates scheduled, will again be subject to this policy. For the aforementioned 60 parkers, the fee will double to $300. In the future, if a vehicle is not moved a third time, the license for that parker will be revoked.
Again, we thank and greatly appreciate our parkers who moved by 9am, and help make this effort more successful.
