The trespasser was in the process of stealing packages when he was confronted by an employee and some residents of the building. The unauthorized person struck the employee who confronted him on the head, and then fled the building. It appeared the individual resided in the park. The employee recovered quickly and is back working in their package room.
We are pleased to report the person responsible for this was arrested and is in custody. 5445’s Manager reported he was arrested at another location during the commission of a robbery. Apparently this person was on parole, thus he is being held indefinitely. They are working directly with detectives and officers from the 20th police district to ensure that the person responsible is also charged with felony battery and breaking and entering. They were told the security footage they have and provided should help pursuit of the matter.
Despite our ongoing efforts to tighten up security and do everything we can to keep the Park Tower Community security, STAY VIGILANT and STAY AWARE!
Don’t let unknown individuals follow you into the building or at any fobbed locations. The fobbed doors are there to protect the building, your property and everyone who lives, works and visits here.
